Happy 2000!
The new century is here and it rolled in without too much fuss. The Y2K bug did not arrive and that suits us fine! However, people are still trying to get back into the swing of things. Maybe a little too much holiday partying :-).
Some of the manufacturers were not shipping this week as they were semi-closed for inventory. However, they assure us that starting on the 10th, it will be business as usual.
There is a new alliance between Eastman Kodak Company and The Tiffen Company. As part of this new alliance, The Tiffen Company will be responsible for the marketing, sale and distribution of a number of Kodak Professional Products (some darkroom supplies and gel filters). Give us a call if you have any questions.
LTM also reports that their best-selling Pepper Kit for '99 was the Cyan Pepper Kit. This kit consists of 2 Pepper 100W and 2 Pepper 420W fixtures complete with assorted accessories. If you are not familiar with these fixtures, please stop in and take a look or check them out on our Web site.

Most people are so busy shooting their film they don't give post production ample thought. So many waste money on all the short cuts that are supposed to save money, but really cost more in the end.Don't let yourself be fooled!
Skip the so called short cuts and learn how to really plan for your post during the pre- production. Learn from a professional editor how to prepare for post from day one through shooting and into the editing room. Learn how to communicate with the lab on a daily basis and what information is vital.
SAVE money! DON'T WASTE IT! Have a project shot or in progress, bring it along.
We recommend you take this course prior to budgeting and especially before shooting your film. This class is geared for all filmmakers, directors, producers and editors. Although there will be some AVID editing, it is NOT a traditional Avid editing class. (Avid editing class available upon request)

- CAMERA ASSISTANT CLASS
- Hands-on approach to learning the duties and protocol of a professional camera assistant. Learn the demands of the position as well as the duties of the first, second and loader. Understand the chain of command within the camera department. Learn how to spot problems and overcome them. Know your equipment, how to work with your rental house and what tools of the trade you'll need on the set. Acquire a working knowledge of the challenges and expectations demanded of a Camera Assistant.
