Earlier SMS made the following announcements.
Each month (September/October/November/December) all processed rentals for that month will have a copy of the completed paperwork entered in a drawing. At the end of each month, one sheet will be drawn and SMS will credit that client 20% (1% for every year) of the total rental listed on the paperwork toward a future rental.

Each month (September/October/November/December) all processed sales invoices of $50.00 or more for that month will have a copy of the completed paperwork entered in a drawing. At the end of each month, one invoice will be drawn and the person whose name is on the invoice will receive a $20.00 gift certificate to a Chicago area restaurant.

SMS extends our heartfelt thanks to our clients for the support extended to us over the years. As payback we have decided to roll back pricing on all camera rentals (16mm, Super 16mm, 35mm, HD, DVCPro and Mini DV) from now until the end of the year. It is our way of saying "thank you" for 20 great years.

With the latest technology at our fingertips, let's not forget the human element. As filmmakers we need to communicate, exchange ideas and network. Therefore, we invite everyone to join us every other Thursday from 1:00 PM ~ 3:00 PM starting September 9th for coffee/soda and cookies. We look forward to having you join us (whenever possible) for these stress free fun breaks in our daily routine.

National Academy of the Moving Image
By popular demand, we will be repeating and expanding our hands-on filmmaking class.
Lighting, cinematography, directing and acting all rolled into one.
Meeting twice a week, the first session will be lecture style and covers preproduction with actual production starting the second session and running through the remainder of the class. Shooting will be done on Mini DV (DVX100A) or DVCPRO (SDX900) or HD (Varicam) or Super 16mm.Choose your format!
Each week a short story written by a member of The Screenwriters Group will be selected and shot. Everyone will receive a copy of their sample work. This is an ideal opportunity to build a reel at a reasonable cost.

JEAN YOUNG has numerous credits on features and commercials, having worked with such notables as Spike Lee, Bill and Camille Cosby after becoming a union Camera Assistant in 1982. Jean has taught Film Production at the Community Film Workshop of Chicago (CFWC), Columbia College, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and most recently at Cornell University and Ithaca College in New York. Jean is a Doctoral Candidate at Cornell University and is on the faculty at Columbia College where she teaches Communication Studies. Jean lives in the Chicago-area with her daughter, Erica.Casting Call
